Monticello Opera House partners with the Distinguished Young Gentlemen of America, Inc. (DYG).  

DYG is a national non-profit entity fully committed to addressing a myriad of multi dimensional issues permeating throughout the world. DYG of America, Inc. firmly stands on the principles of Manly Deeds, Academic Excellence, and Servant Leadership. Our comprehensive strategies encompass an innovative accelerated student curriculum designed to tangibly impact the quality of life of young men. 

Partnership Activity: The Monticello Opera House provides meeting space at no-cost to the Monticello DYG efforts. These include interview sessions for potential DYG applicants, training and seminars and general meetings. In the 2013-14 program year the Opera House was provided five times at a value of $425 per use. This represents a match of $2,125 provided at no cost. 


  • The Monticello Opera House provides meeting space to non-profits at reduced cost. Each reduced cost rental can save the mission-based non-profit $150 per day of use. In the 2013-14 program year more than ten non-profits made use of the opera house using reduced rates including Mainstreet Monticello and the Monticello Tourist Development Council (TDC). This represents a match valued at over $1,500 in value to community non-profits. 
  • During the 2013-14 Murder Mystery Dinner Theater of the Opera House Stage Company (OHSC), the local Monticello Home School Association was provided a block of 20 reduced cost tickets in partnership. The price reduction represented a value of $200. 

As part of the 2014 Space Oddity Summer Camps with the Monticello Acting and Dance Company (MadCo.), MOH provided complimentary tickets to the local Jefferson Elementary School and to Boys Town, Inc. The value of these tickets was approximately $800. 

Boys Town, Inc. reunites kids with their families, finding foster homes for others, providing a Boys Town family for those with nowhere else to turn, and still others are receiving help at home where they can remain together as families. - See more at:
